Grateful Feels Good
I’m not sure about you, but I have been obsessed with the Presidential election. It did not go the way I had hoped, but at this point I am invoking a “wait and see” attitude instead of expecting armageddon.
I am focusing on “the good.”
I truly feel the Holiday Spirit this year, and frankly, I am not sure why. Normally it does not “hit” until after Thanksgiving. I believe each holiday should be given its due. No sense rushing.
I admit watching Christmas movies where everything ends happily ever after has been and continues to be a lovely escape. Reality just got too real. Now I have to believe things happen for a reason, and humankind is resilient, especially Americans.
This Thanksgiving all my kids are elsewhere. That happens when I am on the opposite coast, but it is okay. Distance is not a big deal if there is love. Of course it does help that I saw them all in October and will see two of the three for Christmas. Again I am focusing on what I have ,not what is lacking. It feels GOOD to be grateful.
I tend to be optimistic, but sometimes taking a moment to count the blessings in life makes me feel especially thankful.
It does help I am not listening to the news 24/7. No matter which side of the political fence you are on, it does tend to raise one’s blood pressure.
And I just feel good news is coming. Positive change, So I need to be ready to embrace that.
Sending virtual hugs to all of you. Happy Thanksgiving.
I pray you focus on the good in your world.
I am.
