50 Precious Words Contest -March 2

My entry for the 50 Precious Words Contest

When I first heard about Vivian Kirkland’s 50 Precious Words Contest, I questioned whether I could create a complete story in 50 words or less. I actually found the challenge fun and am excited to enter INSECT UNDIES tomorrow!

Vivian, a children’s author and educator, created the contest to encourage creators to “write , revise, and submit.” There are many positive, supportive comments on her blog .(Lord knows positivity is something we need.) Website is www. viviankirland.com for more information.

This contest encourages books to be purchased for the Literary Initiative, and it fosters a sense of community in the KidLit World.

Here’s my entry. Anything revisions needed? I need to submit on Sunday, March 2. I think this silly idea can be fleshed out for a complete manuscript. What do you think?

Insect Undies

Jeannine Vetrano Smith

“Get your insect underwear!

Your choice of polka dots, stripes, or camouflage.

They’re soft, snuggly …showstopping!

Room for all six legs!

Comes in larva sizes, too!”

 “Get outta here, Moths!

Insect undies are to wear, not eat.”

 “Sorry, they looked yummy.”

“Try them on. “

“Cozy!

Any come in wool?”
