Our Dogs Are Always Our Little Puppies
Today I looked at the most adorable post on Instagram from one of my favorite dog families. How many of you follow good.boy.ollie? If you don’t, you should. He and his little brother, Tato, are not only adorable and sweet beyond measure but highly intelligent and well-trained Labradors.
I admit to adoring Goldens above all breeds, but Labs are my second fav. They can be a little more high spirited and sometimes more stubborn than your traditional Golden, but you cannot beat a Lab for its intelligence, heart ,and love of life.
Todays posting was Ollie’s owner remembering Ollie as a puppy. No matter how old our dogs become, they are always our little puppies.
That was the inspiration for the book I have written YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY LITTLE PUPPY. That manuscript is my demonstration of the deep love I have for my four dogs. Rosie was always called “Little Puppy.” She is my dog muse for writing books.
Yet, after reading today’s posting reminiscing about Ollie as an adorable Lab puppy, it made me think about Jazz , my Heart Dog, who is almost nine. She is living life to the fullest and shows no signs of slowing down. She still plays, runs, and swims like a puppy. I pray she remains this way for many many years to come.
Yet eventually she will slow down like Little Puppy does in the book, but my husband and I will see her through to the end telling her “Night, night , Little Puppy. I love you. See you in the morning.”
